Full brother to Golden Slipper winner and successful sire CATBIRD (deceased), BEARCAT and recently relocated sire LONGHORN. DANBIRD was sold as a yearling for $1.1 million in 2002 and is an international quality horse. DANBIRD is a Blue-blood son of the legendary DANEHILL who has proven himself on the track, living up to his good looks, running a mighty long neck second behind Group 1 winner REGIMENTAL GAL in the $1 million Magic Millions 2yo Classic before going on to win the Group 2 Pago Pago Stakes. DANBIRD was multiple group placed at 3, including a terrific second to EXCEED AND EXCELL in the Up And Coming, and duel stakes victories at four. He raced in Group 1 company with the cream of the crop. Contrary to other DANEHILL entries who peak at two and aren't seen thereafter, DANBIRD matured into a top class sprinter and in his first six runs as a 4 year old he won four. Including two black type events at Ellerslie, New Zealand, and ran two seconds, including the Lion Red- G3. On finishing his racing career DANBIRD stood at Eliza Park, as a shuttle stallion he was caught in NSW during EI and in 2010 he transferred to Glenrae Stud in South Australia, he was once again caught up in the more recent Eliza Park transformation until finding his home here at Briddon Park in the picturesque Southern Highlands of New South Wales. DANBIRD's progeny have won in 17 countries around the globe. Race winners in England include Talley Close, Rambo Will, Cocktail Charlie & Serena's Pride ran fourth in the G2 Queen Mary Stakes. In New Zealand he was well represented by Maidantus. DANBIRD has competitive horses running in Malaysia and Singapore. Five Clubs, Simple and Tally Close (UK) winners in Hong Kong and winner in Ireland Kingswood Bar, a horse who is also jumps raced. In Australia he has proven himself to be a superior Sire with Stakes winner MORNING CAPTAIN victorious in the BRC Queensland Day Plate.
